Dear wondereres,
First of all, hello to my new subscribers and thank you all for being here, with me, in this “eclectic” digital space :) I’m happy to see each new face in the room!
…
During the last few months, I’ve become more and more fascinated with products and their journey “through life”. It’s not something new, but a revival of an older interest of sorts (from a time when I helped startups or co-created startups…poorly).
So, I thought about starting a new learning process. That’s why this edition is all about resources that I want to approach (thanks Dragos and Catalina for making this happen), and share with you — should you have the same curiosities.
1.
I can’t start without a good book, so first on the list is INSPIRED: How to Create Tech Products Customers Love by Marty Cagan. I know, cheecky title, but I heard it delivers. And from what I’ve skimmed so far, it surely does.
2.
Two courses for good measure:
Udacity’s Become a Product Manager. They had me at “Identify the right problems to solve through market research, target user definition, and market sizing.”
Coursera’s Software Product Management Specialization. I was never disappointed by Coursera, so I have high expectations from this one as well. Also, the most appealing part to me is the applied learning involved (need some skin in the game, right?).
3.
One community to connect, mentor or get mentorship from product designers around the world: ADPList. I know, not exactly product management, but another important bit of all things product — design and functionality.
Here’s me, newly created.
4.
Another product research & design resource that I love: growth.design.
Their case studies are straightforward, conversational, and so easy to learn from. Their course is a masterclass in effective and applied learning — at the intersection of psychology, product, and business. (You can tell I’m a fan.)
All in all, that’s what I plan my personal time for until the end of the year (when I’m not reading fiction or watching anime, anyway). What other resources should I add to my list?
